Creating Solutions
To improve the quality of our waterways, two things are needed:
- find specific places where pollution enters the waterways (this is called a point source), and
- address pollution that comes from many places, like rainwater picking up fertilizers, oil and animal waste on its way to waterways (these are called non-point sources).
That means we all have a role to play in improving stormwater quality and protecting our creeks and rivers. Through collaborative efforts with community partners and the citizens in our watersheds, MSD is creating and supporting solutions that help nature and people live better together. The goal is to make our waterways safe and clean for everyone to enjoy.
