Louisville MSD is three utilities in one agency:
- Wastewater Treatment: transporting water used in homes and businesses, treating it to eliminate pathogens and contaminants, and releasing it to the Ohio River and area creeks
- Stormwater Drainage: collecting rainwater and snowmelt and transporting it to area waterways through a system of pipes and channels
- Flood Protection: protecting the community from river flooding with a system of flood walls, gates and levees
