Making A Positive Impact On The Communities We Serve Through Our Large-Scale Projects

Community Benefits $7 million milestone and 10th anniversary of “Can You Dig It?” opportunities for MSD contractors in 2025

LOUISVILLE, KY — Louisville MSD’s Community Benefits Program has reached an impressive milestone of
$7 million in donations, supporting projects in MSD service areas of Jefferson, Bullitt and Oldham counties. To celebrate this achievement, MSD will host a Community Benefits Recognition event to honor the participants of the program on Thursday, January 16.

“MSD is committed to creating a positive impact in the communities we serve,” states MSD Executive Director Tony Parrott. “Through our Community Benefits Program, MSD is ensuring that ratepayers benefit in more ways than one from our large-scale infrastructure projects.”

“MSD vendors (contractor/firm) are invited to donate either financially or through their time to local non-profits and schools for initiatives such as workforce development, neighborhood revitalization such as park improvements, small business outreach and mentorship, or introducing youth to careers in the water sector,” says Sharise Horne MSD Chief of Equity and Community Partnerships.

10th Anniversary of “Can you Dig It?”
Additionally, MSD will host its tenth annual “Can You Dig It?” outreach session to educate potential contractors, engineers, as well as goods and services providers, on $117 million worth of capital construction projects and other contract opportunities planned for 2025 and beyond.

“MSD seeks to partner with minority- and women-owned businesses through our Supplier Diversity Program for construction, professional, and goods and services contracts. We hope to provide an opportunity to qualified businesses and, by doing so, to help close the wealth gap in our community,” states MSD Chief Procurement Officer Rene´ Lindsay.
