Harrods Creek repair work complete

Harrods Creek
June 10, 2020

Repair work is complete on the two previously broken sewer lines under Harrods Creek in Prospect. Both lines, along with a third installed during the repair, are now in operation.

All that remains is cleanup and restoration work on both the Ken Carla and Woodlands sides of the creek. The massive project required workers to go 500 feet inside the 42-inch gravity pipe 35 feet underground beneath the creek to repair it.

The solution for the damaged 30-inch force main required installing a slightly smaller pipe inside the damaged line along its full 1,100-foot length. Both of the original pipes are housed within a 96-inch casing pipe. Site restoration work is ongoing along with some repair work on the pump station at Ken Carla.

The third pipe is a new force main installed parallel to the casing pipe along the same path under the creek to make the repairs possible and provide additional capacity.
