Updating the Louisville Metro Floodplain Management Plan

MSD is updating the Louisville Metro Floodplain Management Plan. The plan lists flood hazards in our community and creates a strategy of programs, projects and measures to reduce the adverse impacts of flooding on the community. It will incorporate information from the 2022 Hazard Mitigation Plan and follow the ten-step planning process outlined in the Community Rating System.

Here is the Draft Floodplain Management Plan.

The public is invited to a series of five public meetings to help create the Floodplain Management Plan. Meetings will be held in the MSD boardroom at 700 W Liberty Street and online via Microsoft Teams on the following dates from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
