Good for erosion control when planted en masse. Bulrush forms a buffer against wind and wave action, thus permitting other aquatic plants to grow in an otherwise unfavorable environment. Cut back in late winter or early spring. Attracts ducks and other wetland birds. Provides nesting habitat for many wetland birds. Food source for caterpillars.
