This species prefers full sun to partial shade and moist soil. The prickly fruit of Bidens species are known as beggars- ticks, the very common, 2-pronged stickers that cling to clothing. It can be aggressive and is better suited to larger projects where spread is beneficial. Cut back plants in late winter.
