Green Headed Coneflower

Grows in full sun and moist soil. Most appropriate for large sites that require quick coverage. Can plant with tall native grasses like Switchgrass and Big Bluestem to support the sometimes floppy stems. Remove spent blooms to encourage a fall rebloom. Divide clumps to control growth. This species spreads rampantly by underground stems. Cut back dead plant material in the early spring to allow birds to feed on the seeds during the winter months. Attracts butterflies, bees and birds.
