Red maple is a fast-growing, medium-sized tree with a long, straight trunk and a narrow, irregular crown. It has good tolerance to wet and dry conditions and quickly establishes cover in natural habitats. Red maple and several cultivars of this species have been commonly used as street trees with good results.
