Fulfilling the MSD commitment to safe, clean waterways includes hosting and participating in a variety of community events, many of which offer volunteer opportunities in Louisville and the surrounding area. Some of those volunteer events are trash cleanups. Litter harms the health of our local waterways and slows down the stormwater drainage system, thus increasing the likelihood and duration of inland flooding. So, being a part of these events is a great way to make a difference. (Also, if you live, work, or play in the Mill Creek Watershed, please take our Mill Creek Watershed Health Survey.)

Join us to learn more about the Mill Creek Watershed Planning efforts and help set the goals and priorities in the plan. Watershed-based Plans provide our community with a roadmap for protecting and improving our waterways. Having an EPA approved Watershed Plan in place opens up state and federal funding opportunities for future community-driven projects. Together we’ll discuss the existing conditions and some of the solutions available to address water quality concerns. A Watershed Plan is only as robust as the community support behind it, so come share your input to improve the plan and our waterways.
