In addition to the Morris Forman Water Quality Treatment Center, MSD operates these major Water Quality Treatment Centers:
- Built in 1995, the Cedar Creek Wastewater Treatment Center is located along Cedar Creek south of the Snyder Freeway near Fern Creek. The plant has a treatment capacity of 7.5 million gallons of wastewater a day.
- The Hite Creek Water Quality Treatment Center was built in 1970, with a capacity to treat 6.0 million gallons of wastewater a day. The plant is located on Hitt Lane near I-71 and the Jefferson-Oldham county line.
- MSD purchased the Jeffersontown Water Quality Treatment Center in 1990. Located on Ruckriegel Parkway in Jeffersontown along Chenoweth Run Creek, the plant can treat up to 4 million gallons of wastewater a day.
- The Derek R. Guthrie Water Quality Treatment Center, located on Lower River Road south of Moorman Road, has been in service since 1986. It is designed to treat 30 million gallons of wastewater a day, with a wet weather treatment facility that can treat up 200 million gallons per day.
- The Floyds Fork Water Quality Treatment Center is located off U.S. 60 on Floyds Fork Creek. The plant is near Midland Trail Golf Course. It currently has the design capacity of 3.25 million gallons per day and is under construction to double its design capacity.
MSD also maintains more than 3,200 miles of sewer lines, and monitors water quality in more than 790 miles of streams in a 390-square-mile service area.
