This sedge grows abundantly in wet locations such as swamps, wet meadows, wet prairies and around rivers, lakes, streams and ponds. Prefers full sun. Cut back last year's dead plant material in the early spring to stimulate new growth. Makes a nice border planting in moist sites. Food source for waterfowl.
