Drought tolerant. Good edging plant and if planted in mass can form a nice ground cover. Prefer well drained areas. Clumps can be divided every 3 to 4 years in spring. This shallow rooted plant can benefit from additional prior to winter. The flowers of Alum Root are attractive native bees.
