Attention: Scam Alert
The MSD Federal Credit Union has been made aware of what appears to be a scam. Some of our members have received a mailing requesting "IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUESTED" that appears to have come from the Credit Union. This mailing references Lender info: Msd Fcu and contains a numeric Property Code.
The text of the message states "This letter is to inform you about an important matter regarding the property at <member home address> secured by your current lender which is Msd Fcu. We reserve the right to revoke allocated waiver after 7 days of receiving this notice. Please call us IMMEDIATELY as this will be our FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY YOU 1-888-801-7242"
The mailing includes what appears to be a check with a Blue Background and Microprinting, however, this document does not have a company name, address or check number. Also, the Signature Line is blank, therefore, this is not a valid check.
I can assure you that this notice did not originate from, or affiliated with, the MSD Federal Credit Union.
In summary, this mailing appears to be a scam. If you do receive this mailing, please contact the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) or disregard the mailing.
