MSD Executive Director Tony Parrott is one of 13 returning members of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Environmental Financial Advisory Board (EFAB). Joining these returning members are the incumbent Chair and 19 newly appointed members.

The EFAB provides ideas and advice to the EPA administrator, EPA Regions, and the agency’s programs on innovative ways to lower the costs of—and increase investments in—environmental and public health protection.

Parrott said, “As our nation continues coping with health and financial impacts of COVID-19, the issue of public health has never been more vital. The safety of drinking water, wastewater treatment and flood protection are more important than ever, and I look forward to the continuing discussion on regulatory requirements and innovative financing alternatives.”

Parrott has more than 30 years of public utility service. He has served as Louisville MSD Executive Director since 2015. Previously, Parrott served as the Executive Director of the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati and the Greater Cincinnati Water Works. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) and was named Public Administrator of the Year in 2013 by the American Society of Public Administrators. Parrott was named a WEF Fellow in 2011 by the Water Environment Federation.
